Are Mobility Scooters Cool?

There is a “reluctance” amongst some toward Mobility Scooters, funnily enough its mainly from those who would benefit by having one. It may be some kind of mental boundary they are crossing when they consider buying one. We have lots of enquiry from the kids of potential mobility scooter users and more than half of them say “One of these would be perfect for Mum/Dad, it would give them some independence and allow them to get out and about but they don’t want one because they are being stuborn” or in otherwords the Mum or Dad think Mobility Scooters are uncool.

Kids are the Kings & Queens when it comes to deciding what is cool and what is not, at least they think so!  Every morning we put some Mobility Scooters out the front of the shop for display. We also have a Skate Board park right across the road. The kids see us putting scooters out the front & on more than one occassion I’ve been asked if I need a hand to get them all out.

It takes about 10 seconds to explain the controls and off they go. The next thing that is asked is “Do you need help getting them back in when you close? how fast does that one go?” If they were able to have one every kid on the block would have one. Sure it would do nothing to reduce child obesity but they would be having a ball.

If the Judges of what is “cool” and what is not “cool” are wanting a go and want to know which is the fastest then I’m pretty sure we have answered the question “Are mobility Scooters Cool?” Absolutely.
